All Influenza A&B patients diagnosed during my study period in Kasturba Medical college are considered as a cohort among which following are considered to have severe disease and rest not having
severe disease .
Influenza patients with any one of the following is considered as severe influenza
1)Pneumonia-clinical and radiologically proven
2)Acute respiratory distress syndrome-Berlin criteria 2012
3)Acute kidney injury-KDIGO classification 2012
4)Hepatitis-Serum bilirubin more than 2mg/dl and AST/ALT ratio more than 2
5)Myocarditis-Electrocardiography,2D-ECHO,cardiac biomarkers.
6)Thrombocytopenia-platelet count less than one lakh per microliter
7)Encephalitis-altered sensorium, seizures
8)Septic shock-Survival sepsis guidelines
Who are unwilling to participate are not included, who are not admitted in Kasturba hospital.
