Brief Summary

COVID-19 has caused many changes in our lives, but one thing which had major impact was diet pattern and lifestyle habits. Lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic has led part of population to adapt healthy diet and lifestyle and others to unhealthy dietary pattern and sedentary life which in long run may impact on immunity and nutrition related diseases. Stress has resulted in intake of comfort foods which basically are refined or processed food which in turn increases the risk of CVD, obesity and diabetes. Since fitness centers and gyms were closed there was impact on physical activity levels. Lockdown also effected the IT industry. The studies revealed that there was increase in weight, decrease in physical activity and increase in consumption of processed food and decrease consumption of fresh food in majority of people. increase in physical activity, weight loss and home-made cooked food was seen in part of population. The diet and lifestyle changes were dependent on economic and Sociodemographic factors. The Italian online survey conducted during COVID-19 pandemic which accessed anthropometry, dietary pattern and lifestyle concluded that almost half of the population gained weight, and small percentage of people decided to quit smoking, and there was increase in physical activity in individuals. Due to lockdown most of the IT professionals had to work from home. Diet, physical activities, lifestyle habits and stress levels changed during lockdown due to difference in environment from workplace to home setting. Though the covid-19 cannot be cured only by Diet, Lifestyle and Physical activity but it can act as defence mechanism against infections and reduce chances of health issues. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the diet and lifestyle among people has changed when compared to pre-COVID times.  The purpose of this study is to assess and  compare the diet pattern, lifestyle, physical activity and stress levels of IT professionals pre and during COVID.
