Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • weight 50 kg to 70 kg
  • ASA I and II
  • Elective surgery requiring tracheal intubation

Exclusion Criteria

  • inadequate mouth opening ( \< 2\.5 cms),predicted difficult airway,intraoral pathology,cardio\-respiratory disease (hypertension, chronic obstructive airway disease, ischaemic heart disease), cerebro\-vascular disease, reflux oesophagitis, a history of sore throat within the past 10 days or complaints regarding difficulty in opening the mouth.
