A comparative descriptive survey research design was used for thepresent study. The sample consists of 200 staff and student nurses selected byusing random sampling and purposive sampling method. Data was collected byadministering an Expectation Checklist and Five Point Likert Scale. Data wasanalyzed using descriptive statistics and Chi square, Fisher exact test.
The findings of the study showed that 96% of staff and 86% ofstudents had very high level of expectation. 94% of staff and 70% of studentnurses had positive perception.3% of staff and 27% of students had negativeperception.93.16% of staff and 88.46% of students had more expectation onclinical environment and behavioral factors respectively. 73% of staff and59.58% of student nurses had high positive perception on documentation of caregiven. There was a significant difference between the expectation and perceptionof staff and student nurses on their mutual contribution. There was asignificant association between the expectation and educational qualificationof student nurses. There was no association between the expectation andperception with any other demographic variables of the staff andstudent nurses.
