Inclusion Criteria

1.Male and female patients.

2.Adults above 18 yrs. of age.

3.Only clean contaminated and contaminated abdominal wounds.

4.Patients undergoing elective / emergency abdominal surgeries for any cause.

5.Patients assessed under I/II/III.

6.Patients consenting for the procedure.

Exclusion Criteria

1.Patients not consenting for the procedure.

Primary Outcome Measures

To employ this technique of intermittent loose knots and the conventional vertical mattress suturing in patients undergoing abdominal surgeries and measure the following: <br/ ><br>1.Incidence of Superficial Incisional Surgical Site Infections (SSIs) which affected skin or subcutaneous tissue by the end of 30 days as defined by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention. <br/ ><br>2.Incidence of wound gaping and secondary suturing. <br/ ><br>3.Incidence of delayed wound approximation (30 days). <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>Timepoint: To employ this technique of intermittent loose knots and the conventional vertical mattress suturing in patients undergoing abdominal surgeries and measure the following: <br/ ><br>1.Incidence of Superficial Incisional Surgical Site Infections (SSIs) which affected skin or subcutaneous tissue by the end of 30 days as defined by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention. <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>
