- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method - Dysfunctional HDL is a risk factor for arteriosclerosis and correlates with IMT (intima-media-thickness) and with FMD independent of HDL-C (primary endpoint).
- Dysfunctional HDL correlates with the occurrence of coronary heart disease and peripheral arterial disease
- Dysfunctional HDL is a prognostic marker of cardiovascular events (stroke, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure hospitalization, death) in patients with subclinical or manifest atherosclerotic disease
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method - Identification of new mechanisms in the immunopathogenesis of arteriosclerosis
- Dysfunctional HDL is a marker of endothelial dysfunction (measured by the FMD)
