Inclusion Criteria

Pupils from the sampled school, haemoglobin =12.5 g/dl.

Exclusion Criteria

Acute or chronic disease that require treatment and/or medication, eat and swallowing disorders, metabolic- or gastrointestinal disease, malnutrition and symptoms of vitamin- or nutrient deficiency.

Iron status, as soluble transferrin receptor (sTfR): Measured in venous blood before and after the intervention (after 12 weeks) by means of ELISA kits.
Secondary Outcome Measures

utritional status, as BMI: measured before and after the intervention. Body height and weight are taken with calibrated stadiometer and scale<br><br>Mineralstatus and Vitamin A: measured in venous blood before and after the intervention. Analyse of (a) Ferritin, C-reactive Protein(CRP), Alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein(AGP), Retinol binding Protein(RBP) through ELISA Kits; und (b) Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphate, Zinc and Copper through atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). <br>CRP & AGP concentration are used for interpretation of ferritin values<br><br>Morbidity: is assessed before and after the intervention by means of tested quantitative questionnaires for symptoms during the last sechs weeks (diarrhoea, respiratory infection, fever)<br>
