(1) diagnosis of PCOS
(2) oligomenorrhea
(3) 18–43 years of age
(4) overweight with body mass index (BMI) = 23 kg/m2
(5) diagnosis of phlegm by phlegm pattern questionnaire
(1) pregnancy or breastfeeding within the past 12 weeks
(2) intake of oral contraceptive or ovulation inducing agent within the past 8 weeks
(3) severe oligomenorrhea with menstrual period over 3 months within the past one year
(4) endocrine disorders (thyroid disease, Cushing’s disease, or hyperprolactinemia) that influence hormone levels
(5) ovarian tumor or adrenal tumor that can induce hyperadrogenemia
(6) severe cardiac, pulmonary, hepatic, and renal diseases
