Vyanga is a kshudra rog having simpleaetiology and symptoms; still there is a definite need for treatment as adisease and of cosmetic value too. The disease vyanga can be correlated withhyper pigmentation with special reference to melasma. In melasma patches ofhyperpigmentation are seen on cheeks, nose, forehead and chin.

It is very common chronic disorder usuallyseen in women of child bearing age. It was estimated that 12.3% to 19.4% of theworld population is suffering with this problem.

Currently available cosmetics in themarket harm the skin and also cause irreparable damage to the skin. There isenough description regarding maintenance of the natural beauty and treatment ofthe skin disorders in classical texts of ayurveda. There was no need toseparate cosmetology as a special branch in that period of time. Now it is timeto highlight Ayurveda in the world of cosmetics with its unique aspects. Hence thepresent studyintended to know effect of kanaka tail nasya compared with kumkumadi tail nasyain vyanga.
