Comparative study for ocular movement recording

Phase 2
Conditions
Pituitary tumor
pituitary tumor, skull base tumor
Registration Number
JPRN-jRCTs052180145
Lead Sponsor
ishimura Fumihiko
Brief Summary

Three modalities, free-run electrooculographic monitoring (EOG), piezoelectric sensor monitoring (PES) and trigger electromyographic monitoring (t-EMG) were assessed and compared to detect ocular movement during endoscopic endonasal surgery for pituitary tumors. As a result, there were significant differences among three modalities to detect oculomotor and abducent nerve. Both EOG and PES were higher detection power than t-EMG for oculomotor nerve and abducent nerve. These three modalities had safe methods.
