All non-smoking community-dwelling adults categorized as overweight or obese by BMI will be included.
Both genders.
1. Past smoking habit.
2. Self-reported or diagnosed metabolic diseases or drug treatments that could alter the metabolism.
3. Self-reported or diagnosed muscular or neuromuscular diseases.
4. Presence of thoracic deformity, which is determined as a thoracic index within the average for the participantâ??s age plus or minus two standard deviations.
5. Any alterations in the physiological curvature of the spine, examined by observation.
6. Self-reported or diagnosed chronic broncho-pulmonary diseases and episodes of pneumothorax.
7. Self-reported or diagnosed diseases such as cancer and heart disease, which may a�ect fat distribution.
