Inclusion Criteria
ASA 1 and 2, both unilateral and bilateral inguinal hernia
Exclusion Criteria
refusal to consent, BMI >35 kg/m2, history of allergy to local anesthetic, history of neurological or psychiatric disorder, active infection at the site of injection, bleeding diathesis-platelet count <100,00/mm3 and/or INR >1.5, patients unable to comprehend use of PCA pump, patients with recurrent or complicated hernia
