Inclusion Criteria

Psychiatric disorder (e.g. depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, psychosis, ADHD) for which the student has received a formal diagnosis or the student experiences symptoms for at least 6 months
-Receiving treatment for mental health problems or has been receiving treatment in the past.
-Minimum age is 16 years old
-Following regular post-secondary/higher education
-Expressing the need for extra support to remain at school
-HBO or MBO level 3 or 4

Exclusion Criteria

-Not fluent in speaking and reading in Dutch
-Need for extra support is only expressed by others than the student
-Individuals unable to give informed consent
-Less than six months to go before graduation
-Has received Supported Education services in the past

Primary Outcome Measures

The main outcome measure will be ‘remaining in school’. Of each participant will be examined whether he/she dropped-out or remained at school. If students drop-out, the reason for drop-out will be examined (voluntary, involuntary, graduation).

School functioning: grade point averages per semester; number of credits completed per semester; number of courses completed, withdrawn and failed per semester;<br>the Educational Barrier Questionnaire, the Educational Support Questionnaire, the self-efficacy in school questionnaire and the school satisfaction questionnaire. <br>Recovery: Recovery Assessment Scale<br><br>The SCL-10 is used to describe and defend the population in the study, and to verify that Supported Education does not have a negative impact on psychiatric symptoms and level of distress.<br><br>To examine the essential ingredients of the Supported Education intervention the Working Alliance Scale that measures the quality of alliance between professional and client on three subscales (bond, goals and tasks) according to the student, will be administered, semi-structured interviews and focus groups with both the students and professionals will be held. <br>
