Inclusion Criteria

1.Patients of ASA grade I and II

2.Patients undergoing elective surgery requiring endotracheal intubation (Duration less than 3 hours)

Exclusion Criteria

1.Patients not willing to participate in the study

2.Surgeries of oral cavity and pharynx

3.Anticipated difficult airway

4.More than 2 attempts at intubation

5.Use of nasogastric or orogastric tube perioperatively

6.Patients with upper respiratory tract infection

7.Patients on steroids
