ASA I/II patients scheduled for elective
abdominal surgery under general anaesthesia requiring endotracheal intubation and
epidural catheter insertion will be included
Laparoscopic abdominal surgery
Contraindications to epidural administration like bleeding disorders, deranged
coagulation profile, local site infection, neurological or spinal disease etc.
History of psychiatric disorders.
Obesity (BMI > 30 kg/m2)
Patients on beta blockers or those who have been on continuous steroid therapy
for > 5 days in the last one year.
History of allergy to any of the drugs being used in the study.
Known case of endocrine abnormalities, pheochromocytoma, carcinoid tumor etc.
H/o present or past malignancy.
