Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
The extraoral photobiomodulation protocol was as effective as an intraoral photobiomodulation for oral mucositis prevention. In addition, extraoral photobiomodulation decreased the time of photobiomodulation session compared to intraoral protocol and was more effective for oral mucositis situated on buccal mucosa than intraoral protocol.
Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
As extraoral as intraoral photobiomodulation protocols maintained low the pain levels (intensity and duration) related to mucositis.
