Inclusion Criteria
Severe asymptomatic/minimally symptomatic MR.
Exclusion Criteria
Patients with known coronary artery disease, previous cardiac surgery, greater than mild mitral stenosis and significant aortic valve disease (stenosis or regurgitation) and suboptimal images.

- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Correlate strain and IB with the presence and severity of myocardial fibrosis, assessed with fine needle biopsy.[];Predict clinical outcome (preservation of LV function, exercise capacity and quality of life) with strain and IB.[]
