Inclusion Criteria
estimated GFR between 15-45 ml/min/1.73 m2
Exclusion Criteria
•Patients with Diabetes mellitus
•Active smokers
•Patients with Hb <10 gm%
•Patients not on ACE inhibitors or ARB therapy
•Uncontrolled hypertension (BP >150/90 mmHg)
•Patients already on Vitamin D or calcium supplementation
•Patients with time-averaged serum calcium >8.5 mg/dl or calcium x phosphate product > 55
•Patients with known malignancies
•Patients with autoimmune conditions
•Patients with heart failure (ejection fraction <40, Plasma NT pro-BNP >500pg/ml)
•Rapidly deteriorating renal function
•Recent Acute coronary syndrome (within the last 3 months)
