Inclusion Criteria

Objective: This clinical trial aims to reduce gastrointestinal side effects in patients, hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Design: This is a randomized , double-blind study in two groups of patients admitted to the intensive care unit in Mousavi Hospital, Zanjan done in 1395. Block non-probability sampling will be done in ventilated patients . To blind the study of two trained nurses (for gavage potatoes and outcome evaluation) will be used. to unify the severity in two groups ,the APACHE II scale was used. Interventions: In the first 24 hours, the patients divided in two groups and fed with standard and the same formula . After the second day of feeding the intervention group and 30 ml extract raw potatoes along with 20 cc of water per dose and control group 20 ml of water at every turn twice a day , 30 minutes before the feeding for 5 days. The main outcome variable: Before the start of each day during the intervention and control group (5 days) gastrointestinal side effects, including gastrointestinal bleeding and non-bleeding gastrointestinal complications will be cheeked. before every gavage , before the intervention and every day during the intervention .
