Inclusion Criteria

All patients above the age of 18 years undergoing elective hemorrhoidectomy for Grade 3 and Grade 4 hemorrhoids were included in the study

Exclusion Criteria

Patients with history of hemorrhoidectomy, history of ischemic heart disease and orthostatic hypotension, pregnant females, patients with second/ third degree heart block, patients currently on calcium channel blockers or NSAIDs were excluded from the study.
