Inclusion Criteria

1. Age between 18-50 years.

2. Excessive bleeding during menstruation (change of more than 3 soiled pads per day).

3. Prolonged menstrual bleeding.

4. Passing of large clots.

5. Cycle intervals less than 21 days.

Exclusion Criteria

1. Patients with known cases of organic pelvic pathology of uterus such as fibroid uterus,

ovarian cyst, PID, myomas, endometrial polyp, endometriosis.

2. Hb less than 8 %.

3. Conditions of pregnancy and abortion.

4. Women using an IUCD /OCP.

5. Patients having bleeding from other sites.

6. Patients with known cases of chronic systemic diseases like

a) Severe hypertension

b) Liver dysfunction

c) Coagulation disorder

d) Tuberculosis

e) Venereal diseases

f) Endometrial or cervical carcinoma

The patients were assessed based on PBAC Scoring criteria, <br/ ><br>• Bleeding amount <br/ ><br>• Size of clots <br/ ><br>• Duration of bleeding <br/ ><br>• Interval of menstruation <br/ ><br>• Pain in abdomen /low back <br/ ><br>• FatigueTimepoint: Patients will be assessed before, during and after treatment. Assessment will be done using PBAC Scale (Pictorial blood assessment chart) <br/ ><br>before treatment (symptoms experienced during menstruation prior to treatment) and at every <br/ ><br>5 days from the onset of menstrual bleeding during 3 consecutive cycles of treatment and next <br/ ><br>3 consecutive cycles of follow up based on patient’s statement.
