group 1- women above the age of 18 years who have come for antenatal evaluation with symptoms and/ or signs suggestive of chronic generalised periodontitis.
group 2- matched individuals with the absence of periodontal infections.
-women in either groups who deferred treatment post evaluation.
women above the age of 18 years-
- with severe/ fulminant chronic generalised peri-odonotitis requiring active intervention.
- women with systemic diseases which are already established causes of the outcomes in question- hypertensive disorders, diabetes mellitus, infections like UTI etc.
