Patients diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome based on the Rome IV Criteria at the Department of Gastroenterology, Kasturba Medical College - Manipal.
Patients who have not practiced Yoga in the last six months
Patients not under any other alternative medicinal therapy
Patients committed to practicing three months of Yoga, three to five times a week.
Patients who are on treatment for IBS at least two weeks before stool collection
Individuals with a history of intake of probiotics or antibiotics at least three months before inclusion into the study
Individuals diagnosed with (or) with a history of chronic organic GI disease,
Individuals who had previously undergone abdominal surgery,
Individuals with a history of any illness that may affect bowel motility such as diabetes mellitus, or poorly controlled hypo/hyperthyroidism,
Individuals with immune deficiency, on immune suppressants, or those who have active psychiatric, neurological, metabolic, renal, hepatic, infectious, haematological, cardiovascular, or pulmonary disease,
Individuals with a history of malignancy
Pregnant or lactating women

Name Time Method The effect of Yoga and Dietary Modifications in the gut microbiome pattern and relative abundance post-intervention will be assessed for patients showing significant improvement as per the IBS-SSS and IBS-QoL QuestionnairesTimepoint: 2.5 years
