Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Adults (both genders) above 18 years of age
  • 2\.Unilateral intra\-articular or extra\-articular distal radius fracture (considered a fracture at or distal to the junction of the metaphysis and diaphysis) that requires open reduction and internal fixation with volar locking plate with demonstratable DRUJ instability using intraoperative fluoroscopy and intra\-operative clinical assessment.
  • 3\.Distal radius fractures associated with or without ulnar styloid fractures.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. An open injury or a fracture with neurovascular injury.
  • 2\. Previous injury to the injured or contralateral shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist or hand.
  • 3\. Symptomatic wrist pain or instability in either limb prior to the fracture.
  • 4\. DRUJ instability treated with primary open/arthroscopic TFCC repair
  • 5\. DRUJ instability treated with Ulnar styloid fracture fixation
