Inclusion Criteria
ASA- I and II
Posted for elective laparoscopic- cholecystectomy under general Anaesthesia.
Exclusion Criteria
1.Hypertensive patients receiving B-Blockers/ACE inhibitors
2.Diabetes mellitus,
3.Any known significant renal/ cardiac disease,
4.Gastro esophageal disease,
5.BMI>=30 Kg/m2
6.Moderate to severe respiratory disease
7.Pregnancy.
8.Patients with documented delayed gastric emptying or slow gastrointestinal motility.

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1.To compare the incidence of hypotension following induction of an anaesthesia between the patients receiving oral carbohydrate drinks and conventional preoperative fasting. <br/ ><br>2.To compare the Pleth variability index (PVI) and Perfusion index (PI) at baseline and following induction in between the above mentioned two groups. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 1. every one minute for 15 minutes from induction <br/ ><br>2. 15min,30min,45min and 1 hour after surgery <br/ ><br>
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1.Comparison of intraoperative vitals throughout the surgery between the two groups <br/ ><br>2.Total amount of intraoperative fluid and blood product administered between the two groups <br/ ><br>3.Severity of postoperative pain at 1 hour after surgery between the two groups. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: HR,SBP,DBP,SPO2,NRS and modified aldrete score at 15min, 30min,45min and 1 hour in PACU.
