Eligibility Criteria
- Ages
- 40 Years to 70 Years (—)
- Sex
- All
Inclusion Criteria
- •Edentulous space at posterior maxilla or mandible area
- •Tooth extraction at least 4 months prior to implant placement
- •Adequate bone quantity at the experimental site to allow the insertion of 5.0mm diameter implants
- •Sufficient band of keratinized mucosa (>5 mm)
- •Inter-arch space (> 5mm)
- •Fixture level at least 3mm deeper from soft tissue margin
- •Non-smoker
- •No conditions requiring chronic routine prophylactic use of antibiotics (e.g. history of rheumatic heart disease, bacterial endocarditis, cardiac valvular anomalies, prosthetic joint replacements)
- •No systemic diseases which could influence the outcome of the therapy (e.g. diabetes, osteoporosis, bisphosphonate medication)
- •Not being a pregnant woman
- •Not being a handicap that would interfere with the ability to perform adequate oral hygiene and attending all follow-up procedures
