Inclusion Criteria
1 Patients Aged between 18-65 years of either sex
2 American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Grade I and II for elective surgeries under spinal anaesthesia
3 Surgeries lasting less than 60 minutes
Exclusion Criteria
1 Patients who refuse to give consent to spinal anaesthesia
2 Patients who have absolute or relative contraindications to spinal anaesthesia
3 Pregnant patients
4 Allergy to test drugs

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To assess the time to onset, duration of anaesthesia, two segment regression, complete regression of spinal anaesthesia and time for first post operative analgesic requirement in <br/ ><br>2-chloroprocaine and 2-chloroprocaine with buprenorphine groups. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: An independent blinded assessor will evaluate the sensory and motor blocks every three minutes for 15 min, then every 15 min until the complete regression of motor block.
