Inclusion Criteria

1.Inclusion criteria for patients:
•Patients with primary elective surgery
•Age = 18 yrs
•Surgery and postoperative stationary care in the University Hospital for Visceral Surgery, Pius-Hospital, Oldenburg

2.Inclusion criteria for surgeons and students:
•Medical specialists, working as surgeons care in the University Hospital for Visceral Surgery, Pius-Hospital, Oldenburg
•Students doing their internship in the University Hospital for Visceral Surgery, Pius-Hospital, Oldenburg

Exclusion Criteria

1.Exclusion criteria for patients
•Missing informed consent
•Bodily unable to participate
•Analphabetism
•Not able to understand German
•Missing compliance
•Taking part in other studies
•Termination by patient (no reason necessary)

Implementation of a curriculum for clinical (intraoparative) teaching: measuring the time spent with teaching during the surgery; quality and success of new teaching units from the students’ point of view via own questionnaire; prospective gathering of patient data and possible complications according to Clavien Dindo to assess patient safety.
