Inclusion Criteria

•American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) grading I and II.

•Posted electively for laparoscopic surgery

Exclusion Criteria

•Preexisting cardiorespiratory, kidney or neuromuscular disease.

•Pre-existing lung pathology.

•Obese (BMI > 30 kg/m2).

•Contraindication to PEEP initiation like increased intracranial pressure or hypotension.

•Refusal to participate in study.

Primary Outcome Measures

To compare individualized PEEP with standard PEEP on postoperative PaO2/FiO2 ratio.Timepoint: ABG will be done preoperatively, 1 hour after pneumoperitoneum and 1 hour after extubation.
Secondary Outcome Measures

1.To compare individualized PEEP with standard PEEP on postoperative pulmonary complications (PPC) which include atelectasis, pneumonia, pneumothorax etcTimepoint: USG chest will be done preoperatively and 1 hour after extubation.;2.To compare the changes in arterial blood gas (ABG) parameters including: <br/ ><br>(a)PaCO2 <br/ ><br>(b)PaO2 <br/ ><br>(c)HCO3 <br/ ><br>(d)pH <br/ ><br>Timepoint: ABG will be done preoperatively, 1 hour after pneumoperitoneum and 1 hour after extubation.;3.To compare the changes in parameters of PFT using portable spirometry. <br/ ><br>(a)FEV1 <br/ ><br>(b)FEVI/FVC <br/ ><br>(c)PEF <br/ ><br>(d)MEF (25-75%) <br/ ><br>Timepoint: Portable spirometry will be done preoperatively, and 1 hour after extubation.
