Inclusion Criteria:
1)Patients meeting the diagnostic criteria of panic disorder with or without agoraphobia as per DSM-5
2)Male or female patients in the age group of 18-65 years (both inclusive).
3)Patients willing to give written informed consent.
4)Symptom onset atleast 3 months prior to enrolment in study (in case of newly diagnosed patients) or off medication for atleast 3 months prior to enrolment in study (in already diagnosed patients of panic disorder).
Patients with Panic Disorder Severity Scale Score = 8 on screening.
Exclusion Criteria:
1)Patients with Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) score = 20 and Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale 7 (GAD-7) score = 10.
2)Pregnant women or nursing mothers.
3)Women planning to conceive. (in patient consent form it has been included that patient will not conceive for next 8 weeks)
4)Patient’s symptoms are associated with or attributable to an identifiable cause such as Hyperthyroidism, Asthma, Cardiovascular diseases (like angina, congestive heart failure etc ) or Substance use disorder.
5)Patients with known history of dyslipidemia.
6)Patients with diabetes mellitus, uncontrolled hypertension, heart block, bradycardia (pulse < 60 / min), epilepsy or other co-existing diseases.
7)History of acute myocardial infarction or stroke.
8)Patients having history suggestive of psychosis or dementia.
