Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Patients of either gender aged between 18 to 65 years
  • 2\.ASA Physical Status 1 and 2
  • 3\.Presenting for elective lower limb, perineal surgery under spinal anesthesia in supine position
  • 4\.Expected duration of surgery not exceeding 2 hours

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Patients not consenting for spinal anaesthesia
  • 2\.Height of patients \< 150 cm or \> 180 cm
  • 3\.Patients with known allergy to ropivacaine
  • 4\.Patients with spinal abnormalities
  • 5\.Patients with coagulopathies
  • 6\.Patients having any contraindication to spinal anaesthesia, and
  • 7\.Pregnant women
