- male or female , 35 years of age or older
-BMI ≥ 23 kg/m2 and WC ≥ 85 cm in men, WC ≥ 80 cm in women
or BMI < 23 kg/m2 and WC < 85 cm in men, WC < 80 cm in women
-at least 9 teeth (excluding third molars and teeth with indicated for extraction)
-diagnosis to moderate to severe periodontitis if CAL ≥ 3 mm, ≥ 30% sites and BOP ≥ 10%
or diagnosis to not moderate to severe periodontitis if CAL ≤ 2 mm
and BOP ≥ 10%
-patients who comply and participate in the study
- presence of systemic disease of systemic condition that could affect the progression of periodontitis and treatment or systemic disease requiring prophylactic antibiotic coverage before dental treatment
- diabetes mellitus
- hypertention
- cardiovascular disease
