1.Dentulous patients with at least 20 teeth.
2.Mean Probing pocket depth >= 5mm.
3.No history of periodontal therapy in the last 6 months.
4.Subjects voluntarily signing an informed consent.
5.Systemically healthy patients.
1.Heavy Smokers or history of alcohol abuse.
2.Pregnant, lactating or post-menopausal women.
3.Use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs within the past 6 months.
4.Systemic disease that could influence the outcome of the periodontal therapy.
5.Subjects having teeth with endodontic / periodontal complications.
6.Use of mouthwash or subgingival irrigation with known antimicrobial activity within the past one month.

Name Time Method To determine the effect of subgingival boric acid as an adjunctive treatment in patients with chronic periodontitis.Timepoint: Clinical parameters at baseline, 6 weeks and 3 months.

Name Time Method To evaluate and compare the level of Red complex bacteria in chronic periodontitis patients with and without the subgingival irrigation of boric acid after scaling and root planing.Timepoint: At baseline and 3 months.
