Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
To find out the effectiveness of High Thoracic Epidural Anaesthesia (HTEA) in obtunding the surgical stress response in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and thereby improving tissue perfusion as measured by mixed venous oxygen saturation.Timepoint: To find out the effectiveness of High Thoracic Epidural Anaesthesia (HTEA) in obtunding the surgical stress response in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and thereby improving tissue perfusion as measured by mixed venous oxygen saturation which we will measure as-

baseline,

half hour after epidural,on pump,

post pump,

postop 24 hours
Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
The following points will be considered during the study â??

â?¢Changes in tissue perfusion by mixed venous saturation.

â?¢Lactate levels.

â?¢Haemodynamic changes in Heart Rate (HR), Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP), Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) and Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP).

â?¢Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis.

â?¢Pulmonary arterial wedge pressure.

â?¢Haematocrit.

â?¢Central venous pressure

â?¢Amount of blood transfused and intravenous fluids.

Timepoint: baseline, half hour after epidural, on pump, post bypass, post operatively
