Inclusion Criteria
ASA physical status I/ II, scheduled to undergo elective non-abdominal and non-thoracic surgery in supine position, anticipating duration of general anaesthesia between 1-3 hours and requiring mechanical ventilation after intubation
Exclusion Criteria
Prematurity, previous thoracic surgery, upper or lower airway infection, airway anomaly, cardiac disease, pulmonary disease, anticipated difficult airway, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, or pneumonia.
