Age 18-60 years
Body Mass Index ( >25 Kg/m2)
NAFLD by ultrasound
Baseline level of 25 hydroxy vitamin D <30ng/dl.
a)Known case of diabetes mellitus.
b)Known case of HIV infection.
c)On any medication within last one month which could potentially influence insulin secretion, insulin sensitivity, vitamin D or calcium metabolism (eg metformin, thiazolidione, steroids etc) and on any medication that activate steroid and xenobiotic receptor and drugs used in transplantation (e.g. steriods, calcitonin etc.)
d)Severe end organ damage or chronic diseases: renal/ hepatic failure, any malignancy, nephrotic syndrome, malabsorption etc.
e)Primary or tertiary hyperparathyroidism, granulomatous disorders (e.g. sarcoidosis) and any lymphomas

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Vitamin D supplementation could Increase/preserve leucocyte telomerase length and activity, thus having positive effects on ageing. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: Vitamin D supplementation could Increase/preserve leucocyte telomerase length and activity, thus having positive effects on ageing will be assessed at enrolment time and after 6 month intervention. <br/ ><br>
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Vitamin D supplementation could decreased lipids, metabolic parameters, anthropometry and body fat measurements.Timepoint: Glycemic and lipid profile, metabolic parameters, body composition [Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA)] will be assessed at enrolment time and after 6 month intervention.;Vitamin D supplementation could Improve insulin action and glucose physiology, leading to lowering of blood glucose levels in persons with prediabetes.Timepoint: Blood glucose and insulin levels will be be assessed at enrolment time and after 6 month intervention.
