Brief Summary

Provision of diabetes management supplies, diabetes education and intensive pro-active communication by the diabetes management team may (or may not) improve measures of long term blood glucose control. This hypothesis is being tested by this study.

Inclusion Criteria

Patients with duration of type 1 diabetes mellitus more than 18 months belonging to middle and low socio-economic status with 6 month follow up in pediatric endocrinology clinic.

Exclusion Criteria

no micro or macro-vascular complications.

Number of self monitored blood glucose readings, episodes of hypo and hyperglycemia and diabetes knowledge test scorebaseline and every 3 months for 1 year for all, test score at baseline, 6 months and 1 year
