Inclusion Criteria
- •AMD patients group
- •1. In accordance with the diagnostic criteria of early AMD: Beckman initiative for macular research classification committee-Clinical classification of age-related macular degeneration and Clinical pathway of age-related macular degeneration in China
- •2. Aged 50 to 80 years;
- •3. Agree to participate in the trial and provide written informed consent.
- •Control group
- •1. Aged 50 to 80 years;
- •2. Those without AMD-related pathological changes, glaucoma, uveitis or other fundus diseases, which involves the macular area and retinal vessels;
- •3. Those without diabetes, hypertension, malignant tumors, mental diseases, immune system diseases and other diseases, all indicators of physical examination are within the normal range;
- •4. Those without infectious diseases or antibiotics taken in the past 4 weeks;
- •5. Those without any intestinal related diseases including acute gastroenteritis in the past 4 weeks;
- •6. Those without having taken probiotics/prebiotics or other micro-ecological regulators, Chinese medicines (including Chinese patent medicine, decoctions with clear ingredients, or remedies with unknown ingredients) in the past 4 weeks, or overeating foods with antibacterial effects (such as chili,ginger,garlic,etc.);
- •7. Agree to participate in the trial and provide written informed consent.
Exclusion Criteria
- •AMD patients group
- •1. Those with diabetes,hypertension,malignant tumors,mental diseases,immune system diseases and other diseases;
- •2. Those with glaucoma,uveitis or other fundus diseases,which involves the macular area and retinal vessels;
- •3. Those with infectious diseases or antibiotics taken in the past 4 weeks;
- •4. Those with any intestinal related diseases including acute gastroenteritis in the past 4 weeks;
- •5. Those with having taken probiotics/prebiotics or other micro-ecological regulators, Chinese medicines (including Chinese patent medicine, decoctions with clear ingredients,or remedies with unknown ingredients) in the past 4 weeks,or overeating foods with antibacterial effects (such as chili, ginger,garlic,etc.);
- •6. Those with other stages of AMD.
