Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • a)Pregnant females undergoing primary cesarean with following characteristics:
  • 1.Singleton pregnancy
  • 2.No prior history of lower abdominal surgery
  • 3. BMI -18.5-24.9 Kg/m2

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1.Preoperative Hemoglobin < 7gm%
  • 2.Thrombocytopenia
  • 3.Deranged coagulation profile
  • 4.Steroid / antibiotic therapy
  • 5.Any pre-existing infections
  • 6.Prolonged rupture of membrane ( > 18 hours)
  • 7.Multiple gestation pregnancy
  • 8.Subcutaneous fat thickness > 3cm
  • 9.Obstructed labor
  • 10.Medical co morbidities eg. Diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases etc
