Inclusion Criteria
Single rooted single canal teeth with secondary Endodontic infection. Periapical index score of 1 to 4. Pre-operative pain <54mm on VAS scale
Exclusion Criteria
complicating systemic disease (ASA: 3–6)
multiple teeth that required treatment
teeth with open apices
an intraradicular post
a sinus tract
an overfilled canal
severe periodontal defect or deep periodontal pocket (probing depth >4 mm)
poor oral hygiene
history of having taken analgesics 12 h or antibiotics 1 month before.
