Inclusion Criteria

Greater than or equal to 7% TBSA (total burn surface area)
1st SSG (split skin graft) surgery
Age 18 years or older
Capacity to record pain scores and consent

Exclusion Criteria

Patients already receiving Lignocaine infusion or oral mexilatine
Allergies to amide local anesthetics
Cardiac arrhythmia's such as 2nd/3rd degree heart block, Wolf Parkinson White
Heart failure
Hepatic failure
Hyperkalaemia
Patient refusal
