Inclusion Criteria
- •Control group
- •ASA I and ASA II patients posted for elective surgery
- •Age 18\-65 years
- •Diabetic Group
- •ASA II patients (Type II Diabetes mellitus controlled on OHA or insulin)
- •Age 18\-65 years
- •Elective surgery (Ex\-Cholecystectomy, Hernia surgeries,AppendectomyEtc.)
Exclusion Criteria
- •Patients on medication which affects upper gastrointestinal tract motility like prokinetics(Cisapride, Domperidone), antidepressants (Amitryptilline).
- •Previous oesophageal or abdominal surgery,pregnant patients
- •Refusal of consent by the patient
