简要总结
Aim of the study is to find the comparative effect of core training and lower limb plyometric exercises on smash velocity in badminton players.
| In the sport of badminton, players need to possess a diverse set of skills, including quick reflexes and agility on the court. Various factors contribute to a player’s proficiency, such as muscle strength, endurance, speed, flexibility, balance, agility, and coordination. A particularly crucial aspect of badminton gameplay is the forehand overhead smash, accounting for 1/5 of attacks during matches. This skill requires a combination of speed and precision, yet there is a surprising lack of in-depth research on how to effectively train for this fundamental aspect of badminton play. Effective execution of the forehand smash involves proper engagement of the core muscles, optimizing body mechanics during the smash and minimizing energy loss. This engagement facilitates the efficient transfer of force from the core to the arms, enhancing the power and accuracy of the shot.Complementing this, lower limb plyometric workouts, which include running and jumping exercises, prove beneficial for badminton players. These exercises not only improve speed and agility but also reinforce sport-specific movement patterns essential for success on the badminton court. Delving into specific training methodologies, core training emphasizes stability and balanced posture during dynamic movements, contributing to overall agility on the court. Simultaneously, lower limb plyometric training focuses on explosive and quick movements, enhancing a player’s ability to swiftly change directions during gameplay. Understanding the interconnected nature of the body, it becomes evident that maintaining stability in the trunk and pelvis is integral to efficient performance. When stability is compromised, the shoulders and elbows bear additional strain. Thus, a stable core and activated gluteal muscles become crucial for ensuring a smooth transfer of energy from the lower body to the arms through a sequential chain of movements. Given these considerations, there is a compelling need to conduct research to understand how both core and plyometric training impact the on-court performance of badminton players, with a specific emphasis on the speed of forehand smashes. Such research could provide valuable insights into the most effective training regimens, enabling players to optimize this critical aspect of their game and elevate their overall performance on the badminton court. |
