Inclusion Criteria

(1) Age > 10 years; (2) Dengue infection and classification were defined according to the WHO criteria7 with serological confirmation by the detection of dengue immunoglobulin M antibody or nonstructural 1 antigen; (3) Blood tests for serum glutamate-oxaloacetate transaminase (SGOT) > 350 U/L or serum glutamate-pyruvate transaminase (SGPT) > 400 U/L within 24 hours after hospital admission.

Exclusion Criteria

(1) Liver biochemistries was not performed within 7 days after the onset of fever; (2) Incomplete clinical information; and (3) Having concomitant cause of liver injury, such as the use of acetaminophen with dose over 150 mg/kg within the recent 96 hours; a prior consumption of > 40 (female) or > 60 (male) gram of alcohol/day within the recent 60 days.
