Inclusion Criteria
• indication for cardiac surgery
• patient consent signed
• elective surgery
• age over 18 years
• persistent postoperative bleeding defined as drainage loss of 100 ml / 30 min or more than 200 ml / h after arrival at the intensive care unit
Exclusion Criteria
• patient with preoperatively known treatment-relevant coagulation disorder (haemophilia A / B, APC-resistance, factor XIII deficiency, HIT-II, etc.)
• pregnancy or breastfeeding
