Inclusion Criteria
Consenting elderly patients of either sex with age over 65 years with American Society of Anaesthesiologists physical status I-II undergoing for elective surgery under spinal anaesthesia
Exclusion Criteria
Morbid obesity (body mass index >35 kg/m2), any contraindications to SA (bleeding tendency, allergy to local anaesthetics, sepsis, infection of the needle insertion site); inability to tolerate a PLR (unable to lie supine or if pain with PLR or orthopaedic cases); inability to comprehend
