Inclusion criteria were including the age range of 25-65 years, the methamphetamine dependency based on DSM-IV, the history of addiction between 2 to 10 years, and the amount of use between 0.5 to 1 g / day, minimal ability of reading and writing, and staying in Tehran and its suburbs at a distance of 30 square kilometers.
Exclusion criteria were also including co-dependence on other drugs, drug use during the 12 months prior to preliminary assessment, history of kidney stones, renal failure, or Kidney transplantation, the history of specific diseases, severe psychiatric disorders, and the use of antipsychotics drugs and drug allergy.
