1)Diagnosis of Major depressive disorder according to DSM-5
2)Hamilton depression Rating Scale score more than 7
3)Treatment naive patients or Recurrent depressive disorder patients who are off medications for at least last two weeks and current HAM-D score is more than 7
1)Patient having acute infections and chronic diseases(e.g. cancer, HIV, diabetes, cardiovascular disease or stroke,etc.),which has any association or impact on telomerase activity.
2)Substance Dependence(excluding nicotine and caffeine) in past six months.
3)Pregnant or breast feeding females
4)Actively suicidal patients
5)Major depressive disorder with psychotic features according to DSM-5
6)Patients having hypersensitivity to Escitalopram in the past or any history of adverse reaction with drug in the past
