简要总结
Intraoral scanners (IOS) have revolutionized digital dentistry by providing non-invasive, high-resolution visualization of oral structures. Recent advancements suggest their potential application in periodontal diagnostics, particularly in assessing gingival inflammation. Traditional gingival evaluation methods rely on clinical indices such as the Gingival Index (GI) and Bleeding on Probing (BOP), which are subjective and invasive. IOS technology offers a promising alternative through optical data capture and colorimetric analysis, which can quantify subtle changes in gingival color and contour associated with inflammation. The current proof-of-concept study aims to validate the feasibility of using intraoral scanners as a digital tool for non-invasive assessment of gingival inflammation. This aligns with the growing emphasis on chairside digital diagnostic systems, improving accuracy, reproducibility, and patient comfort.

- •1.Age between 18-40 years and individuals with atleast 20 natural teeth, who are healthy and not under any medication.
排除标准
- •Patients who were smokers or tobacco users were excluded from the study.
- •Individuals who were under medications known to affect gingival conditions were also excluded.
