Group 1: Hearing loss group
Individuals in the age range from 60 to 80 years having mild to moderate sloping or flat sensorineural hearing loss with normal middle ear functioning.
Group 2: Control group
Age, gender and education(in years) matched controls having near normal hearing sensitivity with normal middle ear functioning.
1.Hearing aid users.
2.Individuals with diagnosis of Alzheimerâ??s disease or other neurological conditions
3.History or complaint of psychiatric disease.
4.Neurodegenerative conditions.
5.Dementia.
6.Hearing loss due to any other factors other than age.
7.Co morbid conditions like substance abuse, long term medication (Eg: Steroids) uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension.
